The answers to these questions solidified the interviewers opinion that the candidate was an effective telecommuter.Senior writer of website and intranet copy, promotional videos, software simulations, sales presentations, and business proposals (work was performed remotely 50 percent of the time).Why this works This summary gets right to the point And mention of the percentage leaves no stone unturned- it says I am a remote worker. Period.Provided excellent customer service to individuals and groups- up to 50 individuals at a time (cons ultations delivered via web conference).Why this works This one is a bit more subtle- focusing on the candidates ability to use collaboration software (the tool of the successful telecommuter). By the way, while many of these bulleted statements parenthetically communicate the telecommuting aspect, thats not a requirement. The idea is to focus your readers attention on the accomplishment, then drive it home with the fact that you were able to accomplish what you did while working remotely. (Pretty sneaky, huh?)Provide web-based training to 100+ multinational sales staff per week trainees based in Singapore, London, and San Francisco.Why this works This one emphasizes the geographically dispersed clients (the trainees) rather than the candidates remote work situation. Keep in mind that there are multiple ways to plant a seed in your readers mind. This one doesnt even say that the candidate worked remotely, yet you still get the sense that she did or couldArt Director with five years of experience managing a remote team of graphic designers to develop print and web-based brochures as well as other collateral for several large car manufacturers.Why this works This one shows even more subtlety, though it still manages to reveal a skill illustrative of the successful flex-worker The ability to manage a remote workforce.Administrative Assistant with 15 years of experience providing clerical and office management stab und sttze to executives and senior staff in a highly sensitive legal environment (work performed remotely 100 percent of the time).Why this works Oh, how I like this one We mentioned that the candidate worked remotely but also that it was a legal environment, the implication being that he was in fact part of the physical environment as well.Reporter with technology focus and five years of experience producing print and multimedia content for international media- including the New York Times, CNNi.com, Associated Press, and China Daily.Why this works The stable of media outlets this individual worked for gently suggests that she performed remotely and/or traveled extensively, which some, but not all, remote workers do.Remember Its always best to grab the attention of a potential employer straight off.
